Day 8: Alacala del Rey
Today we left Granada on our way to our last stop in Andalusia. After leaving Granada we stopped in a small town to visit the Mota fortress in Alcala La Real. This was definitely a stop to plan on your next excursion if you are in the region. The property sits high on a hill overlooking the city. It dates back from the 13th century and it was at bordering the kingdom of Castille and Granada. It has been beautifully preserved and since it is on a less traveled road we really enjoyed it without the crowd.
